Fractional COO services · Boise, IdahoA part-time operator for a business that has outgrown its owner
When everything runs through you, growth stalls. A fractional COO gives you senior operations leadership a few days a month, without the cost of a full-time executive.
What a fractional COO does
A chief operating officer turns the owner's vision into a business that runs every day: clear processes, reliable numbers, accountable people, and systems that don't depend on one person's memory. Most businesses under $25M need that leadership but can't justify a full-time salary for it. As your fractional COO, I take on that role for a set number of days each month.
What I take off your plate
- Financial visibility: job or project costing, income and expense tracking, reconciliation, and a weekly view of where money is made and lost.
- Process and SOPs: documented workflows from first inquiry to paid invoice, so your team can move without asking you.
- Systems: CRM setup, scheduling, reporting dashboards, and the AI and automation that remove repetitive work.
- People and vendors: roles and responsibilities, hiring support, vendor and subcontractor management, and bilingual training in English and Spanish.
- Special projects: software rollouts, ownership transitions, utility and agency negotiations, and the projects that never get started because no one has time.
Experience behind the work
I scaled a California state program's eligibility operation from 3 to more than 50 people with SOPs and Salesforce workflows, built the financial and booking infrastructure for a high-end destination property from the ground up, and helped Microsoft sales teams reach their Copilot adoption targets while meeting their sales goals. See case studies.
How an engagement works
Every engagement follows the same path. Build starts with a two to three week diagnostic at a fixed fee: I learn how the business really runs, deliver one working quick win, then build the systems you need. Flight School follows for 60 to 90 days while your team runs them with me alongside. Control Tower is optional: regular check-ins, or a set number of fractional days each month with clear goals each quarter.
Frequently asked questions
What is a fractional COO?
A fractional COO is a senior operations leader who works part-time for several businesses, giving each one executive-level operations leadership for a fraction of the cost of a full-time hire.
How is a fractional COO different from a consultant?
A consultant typically recommends; a fractional COO operates. I build the systems, run them alongside your team, and stay accountable for results month to month.
How many days a month do you work with each client?
It depends on the stage of the business. Most engagements run two to six days a month, set after the diagnostic and adjusted quarterly.
Do you work on-site in Boise?
Yes. I work on-site across Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Nampa and the Treasure Valley, and in California, and remotely anywhere in the U.S.
Will you see our financial information?
Usually, yes. I treat it as confidential by default, document what I access, and am glad to sign an NDA before reviewing anything.
